The Agency of International Development of the United States (US AID), an independent federal government agency, has confirmed the award to Hialeah Telecomunicaciones for a telecommunications project in Peru using TOTAL ENERGIE photovoltaic systems. The “Cobertura con Calidad” Project will match TotalFinaElf and EDF policy standards regarding social responsibility worldwide, the aim of which is to create sustainable human progress wherever the company and its subsidiaries operates. The installation of this rural telecommunication system in Peru will benefit close to more than 500,000 people providing them with radio telecommunication access and remote health centers connection. It has also contracted for and delivered turnkey power systems for a wide variety of applications through the region.
